Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy


The Physio&Pilates Co. also offer specialised Pelvic Floor assessment and treatment with Physiotherapist, Becky Martin. Our Physiotherapist has the skills and knowledge to assess and treat a variety of conditions relating to pregnancy, birth and menopause. Becky’s comprehensive approach involves a thorough history taking, external and internal assessment (where necessary) and individualised exercise program. Becky works from a private room with a locked door to ensure your comfort and privacy.
Women’s Health Physiotherapy can be used in the following conditions:

    Pelvic girdle and pelvic pain, may be secondary to pregnancy or scarring from cancer treatment

In addition to the following, Becky also has extensive experience and skills in treating any musculoskeletal or sporting injury and is available for these consultations as well.

    Initial Postnatal Pilates Assessment - 60 minutes, $120

    This one hour assessment is for mums who have recently given birth and require assessment of their pelvic floor muscles, stability of their pelvis and lumbar spine and abdominal muscle strength. A thorough pregnancy and birthing history is taken to ensure you are safe to carry out exercise. Most women will follow up these sessions with our Postnatal Clinical Pilates classes.

    Initial Women's Health Consultation - 60 minutes, $120

    This one hour consultation is recommended for women experiencing any bladder or bowel symptoms unrelated to recent pregnancy or birth. Whilst symptoms may have originally begun with pregnancy or birth (although this is not always the case), this is for women who continue to experience incontinence, prolapse or pain during later life or into menopause. This consultation is also appropriate for women who are looking at falling pregnant or are pregnant who want to ensure their pelvic floor and trunk muscles are as strong and efficient as possible.

    Review Women's Health Consultation - 30 minutes, $95

    Becky will often need to review with you after your Initial Consultation to ensure your symptoms and/or condition is improving and to ensure your home exercise program is being carried out correctly.

  • Connector.

    Extended Women's Health Review Consultation - 45 minutes, $110

    This consultation is for those with complex pathologies or multiple conditions that need reviewing over a longer consult time.

Initial Physiotherapy Consultation

Our 45 minute initial consults involve a thorough history taking, a physical assessment based on the signs and symptoms you have described and discussion of your diagnosis with education and advice. In order to improve your pain, our Physio’s may perform hands on treatment techniques such as:

    Exercises to improve strength, coordination, endurance, flexibility, proprioception/balance; and/or
